Help Page & Access Tips
Getting Around - Access tips for using this website
This website does not rely on the use of a mouse as an input device and is designed to be operable using a keyboard, switching device, joystick or gesture-recognition device. A logical tab order is used to step forward through the page using TAB and to step back using Shift TAB.
We have also provided 'skip-links' which can be detected by screen readers or will appear in the top left corner of the page when the user tabs through the link. These are internal page links which can be used to 'skip' past repetitive content such as site navigation links. Pressing the TAB key will access the first 'skip-link' on the page; pressing 'ENTER' key will 'skip' to the described content.
Links & Images
- Links are written to make contextual sense and all links have 'title' attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target. Users of assistive technology may wish to set screen reader options to take advantage of this feature.
- Non decorativecontent images used in this website include a descriptive 'alt' attribute. Complex or text images, that may require more detailed description or text alternative, include a 'longdesc' attribute and for user agents that don't support "longdesc" a 'D-Link' is provided. The 'D-Link' is identified by [D] and is adjacent to the image. Activating this link provides the additional descriptive information about the image.
